Summit & AGM

The FRU is excited to bring back the Florida Rugby Summit in combination with our Annual General Meeting, the summit combines both Coach and Referee education on Saturday, September 11th, and on Sunday, September 12th will be our Annual General Meeting.

The coaching presentations will be provided by MLR team Rugby ATL and their 404 Pathway Academy head coach Johannes “Neets” Gericke. He will be presenting on a variety of topics and will provide all coaches with some excellent content to help launch your coaching and team forward.

Saturday, September 11th — Coaching and Referee Summit — 9 am to 6:30 pm
Sunday, September 12th — Florida Rugby Union AGM – 9 am to 1 pm 

Summit Participant Cost – from $20 to $150 depending on hotel night stays, more details are below. Please note the FRU Annual General Meeting is on Sunday, September 12th and there is no cost associated with that.

Please note only the day camp option is available as the hotel is now sold out – if you wish to stay overnight on Friday or Saturday night please email evan.haigh@floridarugby.org for other available options

Onsite Room & Course Options — Rooms limited to 15 single and 13 double occupancies per night

  • Onsite Hotel Saturday only single occupancy – $75 (Includes summit, lunch, dinner, hotel room, Sunday breakfast)
  • Onsite Hotel Saturday only double occupancy – $50 (Includes summit, lunch, dinner, hotel room, Sunday breakfast) **Must purchase in a pair with the second person listed for rooming with**

Saturday’s Summit Schedule

  • 9 am to 9:15 am – Welcome Notes & Combined Referee/Coaches Gathering
  • 915 am to 3 pm – Both Coach and Referee Education Tracks
    • Referee Track – Presented by the FRRA — Details to be confirmed
    • Coaching Track – Rugby ATL & Rugbycology – Video Analysis, Defensive system discussions, and installations, Attacking Pattern how to build your teams attack
  • 3 pm to 5:30 pm – New Game Management Guidelines & Laws applications a combined Referee & Coach session
  • 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm – Dinner & Open Round Table about Florida Rugby
